ADS Laser invests £1 million to grow and create jobs

ADS Laser Cutting based in Leicester, a medium size engineering business, has invested in a new laser-cutting machine from Trumpf at a cost of £1 million. The investment will help ADS continue its growth and, in so doing, provide new jobs locally.

The company says the investment “will keep us ahead in our markets and enable us to extend our capabilities. We have worked with Trumpf for several years and the quality of their lasers and support is really good”.

Over the years, laser cutting has grown significantly as an industry and ADS’s approach to provide everything from one-off projects like point-of-sale displays for some of the world’s major cosmetic companies, to volume projects like components for modular building balconies, means it can provide a complete solution for a range of customers.

Duncan Keates, who started ADS in 2005 with his brother Stephen, says: “We’ve grown the business by listening to customers and supplying high-quality products and solutions, but above all by employing great people. We’ve grown from a handful of people in 2005 to over 60 employees, and this new laser cutter will propel us to over 70 next year. We have never been a company that stands still – we need to be competitive by having the latest technology and continuing our investment strategy.”
