Workmaster Linear robot rail system

System 3R has fitted its WorkMaster robot onto a rail track allowing it to travel along a line of different machines in a production cell and serve them as it moves into different positions on the track.

This configuration also allows for more space to be created for rotating or indexing magazines and modular racks which could hold palletised workpieces and electrodes together with a selection of cutting tools. Modular magazines also provide added flexibility as they can accommodate workpieces of varying heights, shelves can be added when more pallet positions are required and extra magazines (full rack or half rack) purchased in step with increased production capacity. The great advantage is that the workpiece is located on a System 3R pallet throughout the whole production cycle providing guaranteed repeat accuracy whatever the operation. Optimum operation of the WorkMaster Linear is on a track 4 to 20 m in length with transfer weights of 75 to 150 kg for a palletised workpiece and 10 kg for a palletised electrode. Robots are driven and controlled by WorkShopManager software with production cells being monitored by CellManager for assured process security. WorkMaster Linear is an effective means of competition for long runs, short runs and even for one-off manufacturing. With automated operation, production can continue running 24/7, providing shorter lead times, higher productivity and quicker payback of capital invested in machines.
