Tungaloy TecMill shoulder milling cutters

Tungaloy has introduced the TecMill series of shoulder milling cutters.

Increases in metal removal rates of over 30 per cent for high speed and high feed machining have been achieved. Tangential clamping that works in conjunction with a thicker core design reduces body deformation to improve cutter performance. The series is capable of machining materials beyond a hardness level of 300 HB at cutting speeds of 230 m/min and feed rates of 0.25 mm/tooth, These cutters have an extremely diverse machining range that enables it to comfortably machine grey and ductile iron, low and high carbon steel, alloy and tool steel and heat resistant alloys. The diverse machining range is achieved by using Tungaloy AH725, AH140, AH120 and T3130 insert grades. The TecMill is available as a bore or shank type cutter. The bore type cutter has a close or course pitch option, with the close pitch cutter having a 9 or 11 insert option, while the course pitch cutter body is available with anything from 5 to 8 inserts. The cutter body works perfectly with the newly developed four edged inserts to deliver a 30 per cent reduction in tool costs. The coated inserts have an edge length from 11.7 to 17.3 mm to improve shoulder milling processes. The course bore type cutter is available with 50, 63, 80, 100 and 125 mm diameter capacities and the close pitch cutting head has an 80 and 100 mm diameter option, both pitch types are available with air holes. The shank style TecMill has five possible options, with 3, 4, 6 and 7 insert pocket heads offering 32, 40, 50, 63 and 80 mm cutting diameters at an overall cutter length of 115 or 120 mm.
