Triple benefits with Mapal TTD-Tritan Drill

Mapal is strengthening its drilling line by introducing the TTD-Tritan Drill, thought to be the industry's first triple-edged replaceable-head drilling system.

Offered initially as a universal variant, the TTD-Tritan Drill is suitable for machining cast iron, stainless steel and carbon steels. It is available in diameters from 12 to 32 mm, in 0.5 mm increments.

The TTD-Tritan-Drill tool head and toolholder are fixed by a newly developed interlocking Hirth serration system. According to Mapal, the drill can be used reliably and with stability, even in difficult drilling applications such as inclined bore or cross-bore drilling. The tool is centred via its pronounced drill tip.

Mapal says that the new TTD-Tritan Drill incurs lower customer costs by limiting the need for costly solid carbide drills. Furthermore, the TTD-Tritan Drill reduces change-over times by enabling on-machine tip exchanges that help maintain consistent precision.
