The systems consist of the proven machine tool BA 222 or BA W02-22, together with a newly developed loading module having integrated 6-axis robot and vertical pallet storage for blanks and finished parts.
The module enables loading and unloading of the machining centre in parallel with machining time and is solidly connected to the basic machine in the SW plant. This means that the machine, robot and workpiece storage are a crane hook solution.
Overhead robot mounting allows more freedom of motion and space for other technologies - for example other processes can be integrated, including reclamping, labelling or scanning, while workpiece storage is set off to the side, allowing for manual loading of tools into the machine while requiring very little space. A manufacturing cell with loading module is also planned for the BA 322 machining centre.
The 7 kg robot is suitable for workpieces up to 100 by 100 by 50 mm weighing up to 1.0 kg. In addition to loading and unloading in parallel with machining time with the integrated 6-axis robot, the system also makes allows for manual loading, helpful for small batch sizes.
