RUD Tool-Mover takes the strain out of moving heavy valuable mould tools
RUD Chains, a manufacturer of high quality round steel chains and components for applications in mechanical engineering, hoisting, conveying and drive systems, has designed the Tool-Mover, a device for the safe turning and tilting of heavy and awkward plant items such as plastic injection moulding tools.
The RUD Tool-Mover turns the load at its centre of gravity smoothly and securely by means of a frequency controlled drive, which means that the load can be stopped securely in any position even if power to the unit is cut.
The Tool-Mover does not need to be bolted to the floor and can be moved to where it is needed by means of a crane or forklift/pallet truck. Versions are available capable of turning injection moulding tools up to 6.3, 10, 16, 20 or even up to 32 tonnes.
Tools can easily be cleaned on the table due to its low platform height. The Tool-Mover is covered with polyurethane plates to help preserve the tool surfaces.
