ESAB Alpharex laser profiler can cut sheet up to 28 m long

ESAB Cutting Systems' Alpharex laser cutter, aimed at the shipbuilding, railway and structural steel industries, enables sheet metal up to 28 m lengths to be processed. It is primarily suitable for cutting large items, usually in thicknesses up to 25 mm, which cannot be handled by standard laser cutting machines. While many workpieces may not take up the entire working area available with the Alpharex, the space that is not needed for a particular job can be stocked with items to be cut later and the result is virtually no down time, adds ESAB.

The laser and its control rack on the ESAB Alpharex are mounted on top of the gantry carriage and are transported by the gantry as it moves along the longitudinal axis. On the transverse axis, the laser beam is transmitted to the cutting head by flying optics to provide high quality cut edges all over the workpiece.
