Dormer Pramet’s carbide burrs are material-specific

Dormer Pramet has added several material-specific carbide rotary burrs to its assortment. The ST cut geometry is suitable for machining steels, while the VA design is for stainless steels. Available in a variety of shapes, the company says that the latest designs offer up to 50% higher metal removal rates in comparison with standard carbide burrs.

Also included in the extended range is the GRP cut geometry for machining fibreglass and composite materials. Available in drill point and end-mill styles, its design is said to reduce splintering and improve entry and exit surface quality.

To support the introduction, Dormer has added three new sets to its burrs assortment. These include five-piece sets featuring the ST cut for steels, the VA design for stainless steel and a coated double cut set.

Dormer Pramet’s burr designs and shapes include ballnose cylinder, pointed tree, oval, flame, 60° and 90° countersinks, cones and inverted cones.
