Four Hurco VM30i machining centres were chosen by Titan, because of the large machining capacity, up to 1,270mm in X, within a compact footprint. Ideal for multi-vice set-ups. Whilst the Hurco TMX10MYi, driven tool turning centre has the capacity to produce high-quality turned parts that require milled or drilled features that can be completed without the need for additional operations.
The five new machines are accurate, fast and easily programmable, and are the latest development in Titan’s investment programme. These CNC units used for precision machining components and products will improve productivity markedly, allowing Titan to fulfil client orders at greater pace and keep up with the growing demands for their manufacturing services.
Jon Higson, MD of Titan Manufacturing, said: “We are so pleased to have our new Hurco machines; now installed and fully operational, they are already proving integral to our manufacturing processes. They are incredibly powerful and easy to work with; giving us even greater capacity and enabling us to deliver the quality products our clients want, in the time frame they need.
“Each feature has measurable benefits, increasing productivity and the speed from print to part. Our skilled machinists are now fully trained on the new technology, meaning that the option we’ve chosen enables even complex components to be programmed directly into the machine, using simple conversational commands, removing the need for separate CAD/CAM systems and offline programming.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for our business as we invest and grow, building our future, and ensuring our reputation for quality and customer service is maintained, as demand for what we offer continues to rise.”
The new top of the range machines have been installed at Titan’s newly-opened facility in Granby Industrial Estate, Weymouth Dorset – a purpose-built production workshop also equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for blasting and finishing, which has created eight new jobs.
Including their existing facility in Weymouth, they are now in a total of 30,000 sq ft of factory premises; housing all of the company’s fabrication, milling, laser cutting and press brake machines.
David Waghorn, MD of Hurco, said: “It is a pleasure to work with the team at Titan and to be able to deliver them the machines they need to take this company further, and faster.
“These machines were built to work hard – which is just as well as there is no shortage of work for them to do for Titan and their customers.”
