Haas Automation has produced the 125,000th Haas CNC machine tool, a 2012 VF-1 vertical machining centre that came off the line on 26 January and is bound for a customer in the Philippines.
The VF-1 is a fitting model for the 125,000th machine, as it is the model that began the Haas story nearly 25 years ago (original VF-1 on the left, below).
Haas Automation manufactures four major product lines – VMCs, HMCs, CNC turning centres and rotary tables – as well as a number of large 5-axis and speciality machines. The company currently employs 1,000 people, and continues to grow and expand the Haas product line.
The company claims the largest, most modern machine tool manufacturing facility in the United States, says that it ships more CNC machines per month than any other manufacturer and is expecting to install more than 14,000 machine tools in 2012.
