Growing 600 Centre establishes technical director role

David Holden has been appointed technical director of 600 Centre, Shepshed near Loughborough.

His elevation to this newly created post follows Mr Holden’s extensive involvement in product management of Toyoda-Mitsui Seiki Machine Tools including the project management of major installations for many UK companies,. Managing director Ray Grocock explained: “This is a strategic appointment for 600 Centre now that the company has doubled in size and become more involved in value added projects and expansion into Europe. David Holden will work alongside our recently appointed sales director David Wilkinson, as well as individual product managers, prioritising the all-important technical interface with customers and liaison with principals.” Mr Holden joined 600 Centre in 1997 as product support manager working on the award winning Mitsui Seiki flexible manufacturing system (FMS) installation at BAE Systems, Samlesbury near Preston. More recently, he project managed the ground- breaking FMS installed by 600 Centre at the Airbus site at Filton, Bristol. Prior to joining 600 Centre he was for 10 years a senior applications engineer involved in all aspects of CNC machining including robotics and automation.
