The Engineering Technology Group (ETG) will now offer sales, service and technical support for the Hardinge Super Precision (SP) range turning centres.

The claim for Hardinge SP turning centres is that they produce "the most accurate parts coming off a production turning centre in the world." (See Machinery article here) ETG has represented Hardinge and Bridgeport turning, milling and workholding products in the UK since April 2013, alongside its portfolio of leading brand names and expertise in applications engineering, CADCAM programming and project management. Says Martin Doyle, group sales and marketing director for ETG: "Without doubt, Hardinge SP machines are a very highly engineered product and fulfil a specific need where exceptional, prolonged accuracy is required in a volume production environment. Surface finishes are measured in microns – up to Ra 0.15 micron is possible – and they offer unequalled hard turning, straightness and positional compensation capabilities." In Europe, Hardinge has a Centre of Excellence for its SP range in Krefeld, Germany, and this will continue to service non-UK sales and after sales activity. The team at ETG will work closely with Krefeld to ensure continuity. In the UK, commercial and technical activities and after sales will all be integrated into ETG's comprehensive infrastructure based at its Southam, Warwickshire headquarters.
