A Doncaster based precision engineering company is celebrating being shortlisted for two accolades in the city’s annual Chamber of Commerce business awards.

Agemaspark have been shortlisted in the Business Engaging with Education category and for Success through Innovation and Diversification.

Paul Stockhill, managing director of Agemaspark said: “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted in both of these categories. They sum up what we are about as a business.

“Our innovative approach to finding engineering solutions has helped our business to grow over the last two decades and our continued work with schools, colleges and universities helps to share that innovative spark with the younger generation and inspire young people into careers in engineering.”

Agemaspark has a long history of investment in apprenticeships and training the next generation of engineers is an important part of sustaining the manufacturing sector in the UK. Some 80% of the workforce came to work with the company from school including senior managers and toolmakers.

Paul added: “We work closely with Doncaster UTC and I am Vice Chair of the board and we support annual STEM events like Get Up to Speed that attracts thousands of young people from the region who are interested in finding out more about the fantastic opportunities available within South Yorkshire.

“Being shortlisted for the work that we do in these areas is wonderful and will be a real boost to the team who always go above and beyond in their roles.”
