The Eliza Tinsley Group plc has signed a long-term agreement with the Bystronic Group worldwide to supply replacement laser cutting systems to its Off-Highway Division, which has plants in the United Kingdom, United States and Italy. The agreement is said to be worth in excess of £5 million, and could amount to over 10 systems over the next three years.
“It is the Group’s intention to implement a rolling replacement of all our existing laser cutting machines with Bystronic systems over the next three years, thus benefiting from common systems right across the Group. This will allow us to move work freely around the various plants, as well as taking advantage of our new technical engineering centre in India, where much of the programming can be done, helping to reduce costs across the Group,” said Stewart Maudsley, divisional managing director at Eliza Tinsley.
The off-highway division, whose customers include Caterpillar, JCB, Komatsu, Volvo and Leyland Trucks, manufacture components for construction equipment, buses and trucks in hot and cold rolled mild steel. Milcutt, one of three divisions in the UK, has been a long term user of Bystronic laser technology. However all the other divisions, both in the UK and abroad, have been running equipment supplied by other manufacturers.
