A new chief strategy and corporate development officer has been appointed at EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation.

Mark Bernard (pictured) will take on the role in May and lead the organisation’s long-term growth programme and membership development activity.

He will also co-ordinate EEF’s strategic marketing activity and oversee the introduction of new technologies to support services and member engagement.

Says Bernard: “I’m thrilled to be joining EEF as it invests in an exciting transformation programme. Manufacturing is key to Britain’s success and EEF’s members will continue to benefit from the strength of its services and representational work.”

Bernard is former group marketing director of BM Polyco and played a leading role in transforming BM Polyco’s business model. He has also held senior commercial marketing roles with Polaroid, Casio, LG and Stanley Black & Decker.

Says Terry Scuoler, chief executive of EEF: “Mark brings considerable experience of business transformation and his strategic marketing pedigree will support our modernisation programme and digital investments to better support member companies and grow and strengthen our business services.”
