Advanced Tooling Systems UK Ltd (ATS), one of the UK’s leading engineering service providers to the automotive, aerospace, moulding and tooling industries, has joined industry association Composites UK.

With over 350 members, Composites UK acts to encourage continuous growth and development of the industry, promoting the best practice use of composites materials.

As well as offering business support and strong influencing representation, the association provides an extensive series of networking opportunities for companies in the industry to share knowledge and expertise.

ATS’s ability to manufacture in-house in the UK and provide sample composite overmould tooling using very specialised materials such as heavily glass-fibre loaded PEEK & PPS have been instrumental in its continuing success and growth.

In recent years, the company has expanded into new industry sectors and secured many development contracts for both coupon and volume tooling for a variety of customers throughout Europe.

ATS says this growth has made it the ideal time to join Composites UK. In particular, it will enable the company to engage more closely with other members, especially regarding technologies surrounding the combining of Engineering Polymers.

“We have been developing and supplying tooling to the National Composites Centre for over five years for many exciting and ground-breaking projects with major clients such as the Ford Motor Company, Meggit, and Edwardes Aerospace,” said Mark Terry, technical director of the ATS Group of companies. “During this time, we have developed many new techniques to overcome the challenges facing current production processes.

“Through our membership of Composites UK, we aim to grow our customer base still further in this exciting new sector.”
