AMT appoints Noud Steffens as CRO

Sheffield-based Additive Manufacturing Technologies Ltd (AMT) has added to its executive team by appointing Noud Steffens as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Steffens joins AMT from DSM, a global specialist in sustainable high-performance material solutions. During his 13-year stay at DSM, Steffens demonstrated an effective track record for commercialising early-phase innovations, most notably in the past two years within the additive manufacturing (AM) industry.

The scope of Steffens’ new role at AMT is far reaching, with the remit to support the company’s global customer base; lead and further expand the AMT team across all locations in Europe, the USA and APAC regions; and form collaborative initiatives with OEMs and partners to develop fully integrated, customised post-processing solutions for specific AM applications.

Within this scope, optimising and increasing brand awareness for AMT will also be a priority, to ensure that the company’s technological capabilities for post processing 3D printed parts are fully understood within the industry, and by end users to ensure they get the best ROI.

Steffens’s says: “The past decade has culminated in an obvious push across the AM sector to make additive processes viable and competitive with traditional manufacturing methods. I believe that this is entirely possible, but the key to success is true collaboration between all parties. There are many pieces to this puzzle and AMT is leading the way when it comes to solving a key part of that jigsaw – post processing. Post processing has long been overlooked and, even today, it does not get the full attention required for industrial scale AM applications. The focus remains on printing the part, with little to no regard for what comes next.”

He continues: “This is why I’m so excited to join AMT and work with the exceptional team that Joseph has put together, because I share the vision of AMT in providing comprehensive tools for the industry to reach its full potential. Fully automated post-processing capabilities to complete the full process chain are a key step to achieve success with AM. My mission is to help companies understand this and convey the importance of engaging with AMT for post processing at a very early stage in the development process.”

Joseph Crabtree, AMT’s CEO, says: “I’m delighted to welcome Noud to the AMT team, and I’m convinced that his background and experience with advanced materials and AM processes will prove invaluable as we continue to grow as a company and truly push the boundaries of what is possible with this technology.”
