The 26th edition of the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show is drawing closer and some of the biggest names in manufacturing technology will be exhibiting their latest innovations from 6-8 February

The premier annual engineering trade fair in the UK, Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, is now less than a month away and excitement amongst the hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors is building.

Mechanical and electronic manufacture are covered equally by the show, which has progressed to international status since it started 27 years ago. It is now held every year at the world-class Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Machine tool companies will be there in force. Vertical- and horizontal-spindle 3- and 4-axis machining centres, 2-, 3- and 4-axis CNC slant-bed lathes, surface, cylindrical and bench grinding machines, and bench, pillar and radial drilling machines will be promoted by Ajax.

Bruderer will explain the advantages of its high-precision stamping presses and press shop automation equipment. CNC and conventional machine tools will be offered by Chester Machine Tools, including its own-brand platforms, Brierley grinding, polishing and finishing machines, Kitchen & Walker drilling machines, and Astra lathes, mills and saws.

Colchester Machine Tool Solutions will launch a new product programme, including Storm vertical machining centres available with either box ways or linear guideways. Its Tornado CNC turning centres have been uprated with modern configurations to provide enhanced rigidity and accuracy and the company has also introduced a modernised Student CNC lathe with Fanuc control.
