Flat quick-change pallets allow direct clamping of small workpieces 01/12/2011

At just 20 mm high, Schunk says its Vero-S NSE mini is the flattest pneumatic quick-change pallet module in the world and, thus, ideal for retrofitting to existing machines to allow direct clamping of small workpieces.  Read More

Schunk launches improved Rota-S Plus lathe chuck 30/11/2011

Version 2.0 of Schunk's manual Rota-S Plus lathe chuck incorporates an optimised wedge bar drive system and an improved lubrication system to ensure consistently high clamping forces. Since higher rotational speeds and cutting speeds are possible, suggests Schunk, users can apply more efficient cutting strategies that reduce manufacturing time.  Read More

Roemheld M-TECS magnetic clamps for die-casting machines remain stable in the heat 26/10/2011

Roemheld's M-TECS magnetic clamping system is designed specifically for horizontal and vertical die casting machines. Because the system is stable up to 230°C, it largely covers the whole temperature range that may occur in the die casting industry. Additional benefits cited by the company include no downtime for heating up or cooling down in the press, a shorter stay in the hot area with less burning, no T-slot between the heating plate and the die, and more homogeneous temperatures inside the die.  Read More

Unok and Duok join the Hainbuch precision vice range 12/10/2011

Two new precision vices have joined the Hainbuch range of precision vices - Unok and Duok.   Read More

Kitagawa introduces very large through-hole but lighter rotary table 26/09/2011

A servo motor-driven NC rotary table with a very large through-hole has been introduced by Kitagawa to facilitate accurate milling and drilling of tube and shaft-type components on machining centres and manual mills.   Read More

Schunk MWPG 20 miniature changing parallel grippers widen micro-assembly possibilities 01/09/2011

Schunk's quick-change miniature parallel gripper with standardised DIN interfaces has an outside diameter less than 20 mm. Optical monitoring, a large through-hole and a large range of accessories make its MWPG 20 miniature gripper an all-rounder, says the company.  Read More

Schunk lighter steel version Rota NCL lathe chuck secures acceleration and power saving benefits 31/08/2011

The steel version of the Rota NCL lathe chuck weighs about 35% less than conventional power chucks of the same size, says Schunk, so faster acceleration and reduced energy consumption are possible. A new type of double cylinder guidance of the base jaws ensures that the forces are evenly distributed on the chuck body.   Read More

Re-introduced Kurt D688 vice has more features than any other in its class 11/08/2011

Kurt says that its flagship D688, which will replace its D675 model, will have more features than any other vice in its class. It is also being offered at an 8% price reduction.  Read More

Kitagawa’s hydraulic Eco Cylinder slashes power consumption 11/08/2011

Kitagawa is offering companies that are developing and building lathes with a spindle speed of up to 5,600 rpm the option of fitting its Eco Cylinder. The hydraulically actuated, rotary chuck cylinder typically consumes 1.5 kilowatt-hours over a daily shift, compared with 36 kilowatt-hours for a conventional cylinder, claims Kitagawa. The company calculates that the nearly 96% reduction in power equates to a saving of more than 19 kg of carbon dioxide.   Read More

Roemheld electric swing clamp range dispenses with hydraulics 23/07/2011

Roemheld electric swing clamps work without hydraulics and require only a 24 V direct current. This makes them appropriate for applications where the use of hydraulic elements is not possible, where the clamping elements need to be controlled separately or where the clamping force must be obtained after separation from the energy supply.  Read More

Haas HRT160SS super speed rotary table offers further cycle time reductions 20/07/2011

Adding a 4th-axis rotary table to a fast machining centre boosts productivity, reduces set-ups, and increases accuracy on multi-op parts, but says Haas Automation, teamed with its HRT160SS super speed rotary table cycles times can be slashed even further.  Read More
