WIDIA-GTD taps for demanding steel applications

  • WIDIA-GTD taps for demanding steel applications
WIDIA-GTD HSS-E taps are designed for applications that demand precise thread quality with improved thread making productivity.

The powder-metal taps have been designed with the optimum combination of grade, geometry and coating, for precision tapping applications in steel and stainless steel materials. The proprietary powder-metal substrate contains higher than standard levels of cobalt content for a combination of greater heat resistance and improved tool life.

The taps are available with a 15° left-hand helix for pushing chips ahead in tapping through holes, as well as a 45° right-hand helix for retracting chips from blind holes.

Manufactured to both ANSI and DIN standards, the precision h6 shanks allow these taps to fit conventional tap holders, with square drive or precision round tool holders.
