VISI 2018 R1 from Vero includes mould design tool

The VISI 2018 R1 CADCAM suite from Vero Software introduces a mould tool module that provides greater flexibility when constructing supplier and non-standard tool configurations. Customisable templates, including the management of blank and pre-drilled plates, are said to allow for easy tool layout creation and enhanced editing at any stage of the design process. All assembly parts are automatically updated when plate adjustments are made, including component cavity manufacturing data

Within the system’s snapshot manager, VISI 2018 R1 provides users with the ability to create project design and technical manufacturing reports using data captured throughout the CAD and CAM project stages.

Among CAM developments are faster geometry preparation, and an enhanced 2.5-axis chamfering strategy that provides approach and retract points, obstacle management, and speed improvements. With regard to 3D waterline milling, new adaptive step-down capabilities can manage variable Z steps for each independent area within the same workpiece being machined.

Last but not least, a VISI-to-PC-DMIS interface has been introduced, primarily because sharing process knowledge is key to tracking the digital thread throughout the entire manufacturing process.
