Twin pallet 5-axis Mytrunnion 3 eliminates loading station vibration

The Kitamura Mytrunnion Series of 5-axis machines now includes the twin pallet Mytrunnion 3 shown at JIMTOF in Tokyo.

The design of the pallet exchange of the twin table Mytrunnion 3, unlike some other machines, is based on separating the pallet from the exchange mechanism and the machining zone. This arrangement eliminates any vibration from the loading station and results in high machining accuracy and superior surface finish.

Capable of handling a workpiece of 500 diameter by 400 mm high and weighing up to 300 kg, the Mytrunnion 3 has axis travels of 910, 815 and 500 mm in X, Y and Z respectively. The swivelling A-axis trunnion rotates from -120° to +30° and the full rotary C axis table is capable of turning at 250 rpm. The BT40 spindle has a maximum speed of 20,000 rpm with a high torque of 133 Nm for real cutting capability. Rapids are 50 M/min in the X and Y axes with 25 M/min in the Z axis.
