Haas boosts specification of machines in its mid-size Y-axis ST-30 series

  • Turning centre center with Y-axis from Haas
The standard ST-30Y in Haas' versatile mid-size Y-axis turning centre series now has a maximum cutting capacity of 533 by 660 mm and is equipped with a 12-station hybrid BOT/VDI turret. The A2-6 spindle turns to 3,400 rpm, and features a 10 inch hydraulic chuck and a 3.0 inch bar capacity. A 30 hp vector drive system provides 275 ft-lb of torque, and a two-speed gearbox is available that boosts torque to 840 ft-lb. Rapids are 24 m/min on the X and Z axes, and 18 m/min on the Y-axis.

The ST-30SSY Super Speed has a maximum cutting capacity of 406 by 584 mm, and is equipped with a 24-station hybrid BOT/VDI turret. The A2-6 spindle turns to 4,800 rpm, and features a 10 inch hydraulic chuck and a 3.0 inch bar capacity. A 30 hp vector drive system provides 250 ft-lb of torque. Rapids are 24 m/min on the X-axis, 30.4 m/min on the Z-axis, and 18 m/min on the Y-axis.

Both machines provide a maximum swing of 806 mm over the front apron, with a 527 mm swing over the cross slide. Standard equipment includes high torque live tooling with C-axis, rigid tapping, spindle orientation, a 15 inch colour LCD monitor and a USB port. High productivity options available include a belt-type chip conveyor, automatic tool probe, automatic parts catcher and high pressure coolant systems.
