Turn and burn with EDM B-axis indexer

  • Turn and burn with EDM B-axis indexer
A new B-axis indexer from System 3R, complete with pneumatic Macro chuck, adds greater flexibility to the operation of wire EDM and sink erosion EDM machines.

Made from rust-resistant stainless steel and completely sealed against dielectric and de-ionised water, the unit is fully submersible and is available in two options.

Machine-specific units for Agie, Charmilles, Fanuc, Makino and Mitsubishi - which operate via the host machine’s controller. Or, supplied with a separate programmable CNC controller for machines without additional axis drivers.

Mounted horizontally, this small unit measures only 230 by 278 by104 mm and weighs just 18 kg. Workpieces fixed to Macro holders are turned automatically to pre-set positions from the machine program – the unit is also robot ready.

The indexing range is 0-360°, and with a minimum incremental step of + 0.001°, accuracy is guaranteed. There are integral air connections for open/close of the chuck as well as a turbo-locking and reference face cleaning.

The unit can be quickly retrofitted to existing equipment.
