Tool grinder for one-offs or batches

  • Tool grinder for one-offs or batches
The Ewag Rotoline tool grinder is designed specially to handle extra-long HSS and carbide tools up to 500 mm, and is a production centre for cost-effective one-off or batch manufacture.

With the choice of three different support fixture workpiece guides – shell, guide bush or self-centring – Rotoline’s W1 axis offers a resolution of 0.0001 mm, mirroring the accuracies available in X, Y, Z, B (swivel), C (dividing ) and the tailstock W2 axis.

Powered by a 9 kW motor, the spindle produces 1,000 – 9,000 rpm, and with traverse rates up to 10 m/min (in X axis), travels in X, Y and Z extend to 460 mm, 190 mm and 730 mm, respectively, in 6-axis mode. The machine also offers +/- 200deg in B axis and a traverse of 800 rpm in cylindrical grinding mode.

Offered with Ewag’s NUMROTOplus software, for fast menu-guided programming, 3-D tool grinding simulation and order management routines, for example, Rotoline extends the possibilities of fully automatic operation – including lights-out mode - via an optional six-axis load/unload robot.
