Schunk extends Tendo toolholder range

  • Tendo toolholder for machine tools with 6 mm shank capacity
Schunk has extended its range of slim hydraulic extension toolholders with the introduction of a 6 mm shank diameter for the Tendo SVL series. The extensions do not need peripheral equipment, just an Allen key for tool changeovers.

Independent of the spindle interface, the Tendo-SVL transforms almost any precision toolholder into a flexible tool that can be used in confined spaces, says Schunk. The run-out accuracy, vibration damping and the internal coolant supply also serve to give excellent machining results improved tool life.

The clamping screw of the extension is radially actuated from the side. This simplifies tool changeovers and enables tool changing to be conducted in the work envelope if necessary. The high torque of the Tendo-SVL ensures that the tool can be securely clamped for drilling, reaming and finish milling operations. Using the Tendo-SVL it is often possible to use various standard tools instead of expensive special tooling.

In addition to the established extensions with L1 length dimensions of 150 and 200 mm with clamping diameters of 12 and 20 mm, mountings with an L1 length of 150 mm and clamping diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 16 mm are now available. This enables tools to be directly clamped or used with intermediate sleeves.
