Technifor’s LaserTop laser marker now comes with Class I safety casing

  • Technifo LaserTop laser marker
Technifor's LaserTop laser marking station now has a Class I safety casing that also complies with the EN 60825-1 standard. The casing is fully sealed against laser radiation even at the bellows, often a weak area, and the door is fitted with sensors that cut off the lasers instantly when opened.

Ergonomic features of the LaserTop include a 180 by 280 mm wide viewing window. Also, the counter-weighted U-shaped door, which provides effort-free opening, has an upward linear movement of 420 mm to facilitate handling of the items to be marked and access to the wide working area. The remote control unit supplied as standard has an emergency stop button and controls the laser, the Z-axis, the door, the light and the fume extractor.

A door motor can be fitted as a low-cost option. Technifor says it has chosen electrical rather than pneumatic actuators for their reliability and easier implementation. Door opening time is only 1.5 sec, and can be optimised according to the effective travel, giving a substantial productivity gain, adds the company.

Another novel feature is the light mounted on the laser head. It moves up and down with the laser, providing constant excellent viewing of the area to be marked.

An optimised 620 by 600 by 772 mm machine footprint gives a worktable space of 600 by 550 by 450 mm and the depth of the LaserTop table provides room for tool storage.

The LaserTop is suitable for small to medium manual or semi-automatic production runs and is compatible with all the lasers in the Technifor YAG or fibre range.
