TaeguTec milling cutters for moulds and dies

  • TaeguTec milling cutters for moulds and dies
TaeguTec's ChasePlusMill Mini series of milling cutters is suited for the demands of the mould and dies industry.

The cutter incorporates small inserts that can be mounted in high quantities, to give a close tooth pitch, improving productivity and feed rates. To further enhance productivity rates, the geometry of the cutter, and corresponding inserts, provide good chip evacuation and low cutting forces that reduce insert chipping. This is further enhanced with an internal coolant system.

The series has shank diameter options of 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm, with cutting diameters of 16, 20, 21, 25, 26, 30, 32, 33 and 40 mm. The overall shank length is from 100 to 220 mm, connecting with either a modular or face mill type cutting head. Depending upon the diameter, the cutter has two to six inserts, each with four cutting edges.

Regardless of cutting head, the series is available with TaeguTec's TT9080, TT8030 and TT7080 coated insert grades. This enables the cutter to comfortably machine carbon steels, alloy steels, pre-hardened, hardened, stainless and mould and die steels, as well as, cast iron with a hardness level beyond 50HRc.

The ChasePlusMill Mini series can work at cutting speeds from 80 to 220 m/min with a 1 mm feed per tooth rate on depths of cut up to 1 mm.
