Surface grinders are ready-to-go

With a maximum grinding length of 1,050 mm (longitudinal) and a 500 mm by 1,050 mm table/magnetic chuck size, the 10 hp/1,450 rpm spindle motor/3 hp hydraulic motor XYZ 2040 is the largest of four hydraulic surface grinder models. All are fully equipped and ready to go – while larger models can be supplied to order.

Standard on the four model range – XYZ 1020 (500 mm maximum grinding length), XYZ 1224 (609 mm), XYZ 1632 (860 mm) and XYZ 2040 (1,050 mm) – are a choice of permanent or electromagnetic chuck, dust extraction, flood coolant, power rise and fall to the wheelhead, micrometer adjustment, ballscrews and worklight. Options include automatic incremental downfeed, overhead wheel dresser, sine bar, wheel dressing attachments and digital readout.

The standard grinding wheel diameter ranges from 180 mm for the 2 hp/3,000 rpm spindle motor XYZ 1,020, which has a 250 by 500 mm table/magnetic chuck size, to 355 mm for the XYZ 2040.

Maximum distance from table surface to the wheel spindle ranges from 500 mm (XYZ 1020) to 600 mm (XYZ 2040). Similarly, longitudinal travel ranges from 558 mm to 1,100 mm and cross travels from 250 mm to 550 mm.
