Stemmer Imaging 12 MP CameraLink cameras have best yet frame rate performance
The CameraLink Falcon2 camera series from Teledyne DALSA, now available from Stemmer Imaging, offers frame rates of up to 168 fps with 4 MP resolution for high speed imaging. The 12 MP resolution model offers a frame rate of 58 fps, which Stemmer believes is the highest currently available at this resolution. Applications indicated include automated optical inspection in electronics semiconductor wafer inspection and flat panel display inspection, as well as solar panel inspection.
The Falcon2 series comprises three GenICam-compliant high performance models and uses the same improved performance CMOS sensors as the Teledyne DALSA's Genie TS cameras. The series features true global shuttering to remove unwanted smear and time displacement image artifacts, while in-camera image pre-processing provides flat field correction.
The Falcon2 has programmable exposure time and frame rate via the CameraLink interface or by external hardware signals, and selectable aspect ratios (4:3 and 1:1).
All three models are housed in a compact, rugged and thermally efficient body, so no external cooling system is required.
