Stellram end mill for tough aerospace materials

  • Stellram end mill for tough aerospace materials
ATI Stellram has introduced the RSM solid carbide endmill for machining walls, pockets and surfaces in titanium aerospace components.

The Stellram RSM profiling endmill is made from an aerospace-approved, high-quality micrograin carbide substrate and is capable of thin wall machining even the toughest of titanium alloys. Issues such as vibration and material tarnishing are significantly reduced by the RSM's advanced geometry.

The geometry of the RSM is designed to minimise material adhesion to the cutting edge when machining titanium. The sharp honed cutting edge with primary and radial clearance angles provides stress-free penetration in the cut and excellent chip evacuation. This promotes extended tool life during high speed machining.

The reduced diameter shank of the RSM endmill allows the user to obtain maximum reach and work holding stability. Long and extra long versions of the RSM endmill can be manufactured to order.
