Short shanks for higher productivity with GOmill end mills from Kennametal

  • Short shanks for higher productivity with GOmill end mills from Kennametal
With a short-shank style resulting in extremely stable operation and unequal flute spacing, reducing vibration and chatter, the GOmill line of end mills, from Kennametal, mean increased metal-removing productivity and good surface finishes, for a wide range of metalworking applications.

GoMill products are being introduced in three versions: a three-flute ball nose, a four-flute with chamfer, and a three-flute sharp. All feature a short shank for increased stability and rigidity, unequal flute spacing for reduced chatter and vibration, and advanced AlTiN coating for long tool life.

"This is a completely new end mill concept from Kennametal, and represents the latest thinking in tool design, advanced coatings, and increased performance for shops of all sizes. Anyone requiring higher metal-removal rates at economical costs will benefit from giving GOmill end mills a try," says Oliver Sax, senior global product manager for solid end mills, at Kennametal.

"In short-location work or even advanced multi-axis mill-turn applications, GoMill end mills can cut faster and last longer than many existing end mills at a price-performance ratio that's often better than a regrind," Mr Sax adds.
