CoroMill316 exchangeable head end mill insert range expanded
Sandvik Coromant has launched three more insert styles for its CoroMill 316 exchangeable head end mill system. Each of the designs has two cutting edges and, says the company, offers the strength and security to help overcome the most challenging of milling problems. These inserts also extend the depth of cut for the CoroMill 316 range to 0.8 XDc.
The CoroMill 316 range comprises a ballnose insert for typical machine shop tasks such as profile milling, aluminium machining and finishing; a corner radius insert for slot milling, shoulder, plunge and face milling, and ramping and pocketing; and a chamfer insert for chamfer milling of different angles that also provides optimised spot drilling capability.
CoroMill 316 exchangeable end mills are connected to the tool shank by a threaded coupling which combines high strength with guaranteed accuracy, says Sandvik Coromant. The tool is based on CoroMill Plura geometries and is available in the manufacturer's latest PVD grades.
