Rubber roll grinder retrofit for centre lathes

A series of purpose-designed grinding attachments for centre lathes turn them into rubber roll grinders. The series is designated Wizard 1, 2, 3 and 4.

The Wizard 1 is available in two sizes, a 7.5 kW (10 hp) motor drive and a powerful 11 kW (15 hp). The units can easily be retrofitted to any centre lathe of the correct capacity and are ideal for all parallel grinding operations.

For even greater flexibility, the Wizard 2 offers the same two sizes of motor power but with an infinitely variable, inverter drive offering grinding wheel speeds from 580 – 5000 rpm selectable in 1 rev increments. This allows for the fine-tuning of the wheel speed when grinding rollers of differing diameters.

Even the more complex cambered rolls are catered for with the Wizard 3 and 4 models. Both are offered in the same two sizes with the former utilising a fixed spindle speed and the latter the inverter drive - but both are fitted with the addition of an Omron touch screen, question-and-answer PLC.

Pre-programmed with every conceivable shape of roll, it is the answer to the small batch roll maker's demands.

All wizard models are offered as a retrofit with the option of customer fitting or by our own technicians in your works. Alternatively, you can send your lathe to HNC's factory for fitting; it will even source a suitable new or used lathe.
