Mitsubishi Carbide's turning insert with multi-purpose chip breaker

  • Mitsubishi Carbide's turning insert with multi-purpose chip breaker
Mitsubishi Carbide has developed a turning insert with multi-purpose chip breaker that caters to a wide range of applications.

Chip breakers are typically only effective within their own operating envelope, with performance soon suffering once these are breached. Such conditions are found where workpiece geometry varies greatly. Mitsubishi Carbide's UE6105 combats this limitation.

The company's UE6105 with MP chip breaker geometry is intended to benefit those firms that manufacture in small batches, allowing a single tool to cover many components.

The insert offers a versatile solution, negating the need to establish the absolute optimum cutting conditions for each job.

The UE6105 is an innovative combination of chip breaker geometry and insert coatings, and is available in four grades and six different insert types for machining steels through to cast irons.
