Sandvik Coromant extends low vibration ‘Silent Tools’ productivity-boosting milling adaptor range

  • Milling toolholders are silent and boost productivity
Sandvik Coromant has extended its range of Silent Tools milling adaptors. Available in lengths 4-5xD, the damped adaptors can provide productivity gains of more than 50% non-damped systems, says the cutting tool and tooling systems specialist.

The Silent Tools adaptors can enhance surface finishing significantly through reduced vibration capability, even with increased cutting data. They also allow longer engagement milling cycles through increased temperature limitation and the possibility to channel coolant through the arbor, thereby increasing tool life, adds Sandvik.

The patented Silent Tools damping mechanism can be applied to a wide variety of milling operations.
