Trumpf SAP-ready direct laser marking system eliminates labels

  • Laser marking SAP connection Trumpf
Trumpf has introduced a method of directly connecting a laser marking machine to the Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) environment via a standard interface, allowing users to mark components from within SAP. The link to the TruMark marking laser is established using the driver interface for printers included in the SAP Printer Vendor program.

Instead of printing onto a label that would then be stuck to the product or component, the Trumpf TruMark directly and indelibly marks the product's surface. This enables users to work from within the SAP system to apply company logos, model designations, codes and serial numbers to components using a laser, without requiring any programming skills or additional software. The laser parameters required for a wide range of materials are included as part of the marking software package.

The innovative SAP driver connection is featured on the TruMark Station 1000 (D). This compact, space-saving laser marking station is suitable for marking small components without the need for a mechanical Z-axis.

For ease in loading and unloading, the TruMark workstation features an integrated drawer with fixtures designed for specific components. Combined with the optical focusing axis, the fixtures ensure the workpiece surface is always on the focal plane. The TruMark Station 1000 (D) works particularly well in combination with TruMark series 3000 lasers, says Trumpf, providing a user-friendly, easy to operate workstation and consistent laser marking.
