Ward Hi-Tech reveals large capacity Hwacheon turning centre

  • large capcity turning centre
Hwacheon Machinery (Ward Hi-Tech) has added to its Hi-Tech range of large capacity heavy duty CNC turning centres, with the Hi-Tech 850.

With a turning diameter of 920 mm, bed lengths of either 2.5 m or 3.5 m and a powerful 60 hp main motor drive, the Hi-Tech 850 is ideal for large diameter shaft components required in industries such as oil and gas, automotive and hydraulics.

The machine construction is based on a massive 45° slant bed casting, designed with the support of finite element analysis software.

A huge 12-station turret arrangement accommodates turning tools up to 32 mm square and boring bars up to 80 mm diameter by 800 mm long.

Faced-mounted BMT style driven tools are provided with the 3-axis driven tool version and a driven tool motor of 11 kW ensures powerful drilling and milling performance.

Control is the Fanuc 0iTD complete with manual guide on board CAP facility and colour graphics.

The Hi-Tech 850 can have the option of Y-axis and driven tools to become a complete large capacity machining centre that can tackle the heaviest production requirements.
