Large capacity rubber roll grinder

The Rollertech RT 3000 is rubber roll grinder having the capacity to grind rolls 600 mm diameter by 3,000 mm in length and up to 5 tonnes weight. Accuracy is maintained to within 20 micron, end to end.

The machine is compact, with the component rotating during the grinding process but remaining stationary in the longitudinal axis as the wheelhead traverses in X in addition to Z, as per conventional machines. To provide the rigidity and accuracy required, linear guideways are utilised throughout.

The axes are driven by Fanuc GE high torque DC motors via heavy duty ballscrews. Programming is via a Fanuc GE Oi-D touch screen CNC controller, having an easy-to-use question and answer format.

A number of programs has been developed and incorporated into the control, including parallel, convex and concave grinding along with grooving cycles giving herringbone, chevron and diamond patterns to name but a few.

Customers can easily prepare programmes for their own specialist shapes and patterns as required.
