Hexagon unveils first direct scanning laser tracker

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has unveiled the first ever direct scanning laser tracker, the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600. Based on a novel working principle that can accurately locate a point in 3D space with metrology-grade accuracy, the ATS600 does not require a reflector at the point of measurement.

With the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600, objects that previously demanded significant time investment to digitise, or which were even beyond the realistic possibility of efficient measurement, can be quickly brought into the world of 3D analysis by a single operator, says Hexagon.

Metrologic Group is pleased to be among the first to integrate the new Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 with Metrolog X4 inspection software.

"We wanted to support the new ATS600 tracker right at the point of release,” says Bertrand Gili, president of Metrologic Group. “Taking advantage of the latest innovation developed by Hexagon, we are very enthusiastic to offer our customers access to this new generation of trackers."
