Heat-shrink solution offers benefits

The EZ Heat Shrink tooling range offers engineering companies a number of important benefits, including fast tool changeover times, high accuracy levels and extended tool life.

The EZ3200 heat shrink machine can shrink and release carbide shank tools from 3 to 20 mm diameter and a tool change to be carried out within just 30 seconds. Using water-based soluble coolant, the EZ99 cooling station is capable of bringing the temperature of the holder back down from 600 °C within another 30 seconds.

Designed with a slim profile to allow the machining of difficult to access areas, EZshrink chucks are available in a range of diameters and feature BT30, BT40 or HSK 63A tapers to suit the most popular machine tool spindle sizes, as well as DIN69871 No 40 taper.

Run-out at the nose is 2 micron and just 3 micron at three times diameter. And, the EZshrink chucks have been tested to 5000 cycles without loss of gripping force, run-out or repeatability.
