Hard metal removal rates increased with ITC end mill series

  • Improved hard metal removal rates with ITC end mill series
ITC's 4041 Cyber series, of four flute carbide end mills, is designed to increase material removal rates.

Produced from a wear resistant micro grain carbide, that is AlTiN coated, the end mills are available in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm diameters, with 7, 8, 11, 13, 15 mm length of cuts, respectively.

The right hand helix series, with centre cutting, has an overall length from 38 to 55 mm. The 4, 6 and 8 mm diameter have a chamfer of 0.4 mm, while the 10 and 12 mm cutters have a 0.5 mm chamfer.

Designed to deliver high performance when machining aerospace and motorsport grade alloys and steels, the 4041 series has a short flute length and unequal flute spacing. This unequal spacing reduces machining noise, by eliminating the harmonic effect, and enhances metal removal rates, while the short flute length compliments the dissipation of the harmonic effect, by increasing the rigidity.

With increased rigidity and flute geometry the 4041 series can produce a deep cut at high feeds and speeds, while still delivering a good surface finish.

The series has a square end with corner chamfer to prevent chipping, this enhances tool life when conducting heavy cutting operations.
