Face milling cutter range expansion for finishing cast iron components

The MaxiMill HPC12 range of face milling cutters has been expanded. Originally developed for the high speed machining of aluminium components using PCD, the PCD insert range now has a wide range of cutting length and facet options including full length PCD segments. With the new coated CBN grade CTL3215, these cutters also offer an alternative solution for high-speed finishing of cast iron components.

Cutter bodies are available up to 315 mm diameter with the larger sizes having an aluminium core with the inserts seated in a steel outer ring. This design provides the ideal combination of in lightness and durability, says Ceratizit.
