Compact Doosan VMCs now available from Mills CNC

Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK, is launching a compact 3-axis vertical machining centre into the market. The DEM 4000 is the latest addition to Doosan’s range of vertical machining centres, a series that includes the DNM and Mynx series.

Despite its relatively small footprint, the DEM 4000 boasts 550 x 400 x 450 mm travels in X, Y and Z, with 24 m/min rapid traverse rates in all three axes. Also featured is a 650 x 400 mm table (with 400 kg maximum table load), and a 7.5 kW/8,000 rpm BT40 spindle.

The DEM 4000 is equipped with the Doosan Fanuc i control and can be supplied with a choice of automatic tool-changer configurations (the armless ATC option has a 16-position capacity, while the cam-type ATC has 20 positions).

Says Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s Technical Director: “Doosan machines have a reputation in the market for their accuracy, reliability and great value. The new DEM 4000 vertical machining centre ticks all of these boxes and more, and provides component manufacturers with a high-performance milling solution at an attractive price.”

Doosan’s DEM 4000 will be on the stand (Z05) of Mills CNC at the forthcoming Future Engineering Ireland Show in Dublin (29-30 January 2020).
