Comparative tests when machining titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V have shown that tool life can be greatly increased, compared to conventional carbide grades using CTS24Z.
Since EMO 2017 (September), solid rods have been available from stock in grade CTS24Z, both ground and as sintered. The rods in the as-sintered version with two helical coolant holes are a useful addition to the CTS24Z stock range. Toolmaking companies can order the products from the company’s E-Techstore for delivery on the following work day by noon, if the order is placed by 6.30 pm (CET).
