Bowers measures up to 500 mm with bore gauge

Bowers Metrology has launched the XT500 large diameter, 3-point Bore Gauge, which can accurately measure an internal diameter of up to 500 mm.

Until now, Bowers' range of internal measuring devices was able to measure bores from 2 mm to 300 mm.

The Bowers XT500 is supplied with a series of precise extensions and a certified setting ring, allowing the gauge to be quickly configured to measure bores within the range of 300 to 500 mm. Bespoke extensions are available to accommodate even larger bore diameters.

The gauge is IP65 rated, rendering the gauge resistant to coolant, water and airborne particles.

Bowers digital XT500 is based on the company's XT Xtreme Bore Gauges and is suited for use in inspection departments or even within hostile measuring environments, such as in close proximity to machine tools.

Amongst features incorporated into these gauges are a large, clear digital display, metric/inch conversion and an RS 232 output. Length extensions are available enabling the XT500 to take accurate measurements deep inside bores.

If required, cable free XT500 data collection can be achieved with the use of Bowers' optional, wireless communication module.
