3M Cubitron II fibre discs boost productivity in grinding applications

  • Abrasive discs 3M
3M Cubitron II fibre discs use 3M precision-shaped ceramic grain technology and have ultra-sharp fast-cutting points. They are said to wear evenly, run cooler and have an optimised mineral breakdown that maximises disc life.

Each Cubitron II disc features triangular-shaped grain that is electrostatically oriented to form sharp peaks that slice through metal. At any grinding pressure they wearing evenly offering grind consistency and disc durability.

The 3M Cubitron II range comprises 987C discs for stainless steel and 982C for carbon and mild steel. Each is available in 36+, 60+ and 80+ grades, providing a solution for removal of weld, mill scale, surface imperfections, beveling and edge chamfering. The discs come in a range of diameters from 100 to 180 mm.

3M says that the Cubitron II discs can generally be expected to give cut rates twice as fast and last at least twice as long as conventional ceramic, and up to five times as long as alumina zirconia in some applications and require less effort from the operator.
