The new recruits will start working at Mazak’s European Headquarters in Worcester in September and will join 48 apprentices currently in training with there. Since 2011, Mazak has successfully trained 109 apprentices, and the September intake will take this figure to 127.
These latest 18 will be assigned to various departments within Mazak, including production and business support. Five apprentices will be undertaking machining-related roles, three will be working in the sheet metal department, six in mechanical roles, three will undergo electrical training and one will join Mazak’s Spindle Service Centre.
All programmes will combine college-based learning with the essential hands-on approach to training. All apprentices will complete an accredited apprenticeship pathway to Level 3 against the new apprenticeship standards. In instances where students excel during their training, a further top-up to HNC/D level will be offered.
