WEG will exhibit its energy-efficient motor and geared motor lines, along with its range of automation products, at MACH 2020 (Birmingham NEC, April 20-24) in hall 7, stand 727. At the show, the company will present its WG20 geared motor series, the first geared motor range to be entirely developed in-house. Comprising helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gear units, the series offers torque ranges between 50 and 18,000 Nm.

Manufactured with a light aluminium housing, the WG20 motor delivers high efficiency performance, without compromising on design, says the company. In fact, the aluminium housing of the WG20 motor enhances energy efficiency by improving heat conductivity; in short, the housing encourages heat dissipation from the motor’s internal parts and prolongs its lifespan.

WEG will also exhibit its W22 three-phase motor line. This range has been developed to provide high levels of performance, while delivering maximum energy efficiency with levels up to IE4. The W22X hazardous area range for use in explosive atmospheres will be showcased on the stand, already meeting, and in some cases exceeding, the Eco Design legislation for energy efficiencies which comes into place on 15 January 2021.

Also on show for the first time in the UK will be the newly extended CFW500 variable-speed drive with integrated safety functions of Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1). When activated, the function stops the unintentional starting of machines and prevents uncontrolled stops, improving safety for plant employees. In fact, the CFW500 with safety functions fulfils the requirements for SIL 3/PL e, according to IEC 61800-5-2, EN ISO 13849-1, EN 62061, IEC 61508 and IEC 60204-1.
