With machine-tool sales being fully supported by a UK-wide network of national service and application engineers, both mechanical and electrical technical support, a rapidly growing sales team, Sheffield and Redditch showrooms, and a used machinery division – the company has the staff, service and support network to instil confidence in UK manufacturers when purchasing technology from Ward CNC. Furthermore, the company has recently obtained ISO9001 certification, underpinning the processes and the operational and managerial structures that guarantee quality, not only in the machines, but every element of the business.
From the Hartford stable of machining centres, Ward CNC will be introducing the SW216 and the LG500. Suitable for larger capacity work, the Hartford SW216 is a double-column, bridge-type travelling-table VMC with a 2 by 1.45 m table that can support the machining of parts up to 7,000 kg. With X, Y and Z-axis travel of 2 by 1.6 by 780 mm, this 50-taper spindle workhorse has an 18.5 kW spindle motor for heavy cutting operations, regardless of material type.
From an optional perspective, the SW216 is available with 22 or 26 kW spindle motors, a 32, 40 or 60 position ATC, and the choice of FANUC, Heidenhain or Hartrol Plus CNC.
The Hartford LG500 will also be on show. This 3-axis machining centre has a competitive price point and comes with a 24-position ATC and an 8,000 rpm, 5.5 kW spindle (BT40 taper). CNC is via FANUC or Hartrol Plus.
Reverting back to the theme of heavy-duty machining, Ward CNC will be presenting the Soraluce TA-A35 travelling-table bed mill, which can accommodate component loads up to 7,800 kg. Specifications include a table area of 3.7 by 1 m, with 3.5 by 1.25 by 1.2 m travel in the X, Y and Z axis, respectively. Also featured is a 28 kW spindle motor offering a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm. Rapid traverse rates are 25 m/min.
Beneath the work area is a heavy-duty cast-iron construction that absorbs vibration when undertaking heavy cutting. This base is supported by linear guideway technology with a fully automatic air/oil-cooled indexing head, automatic tool changer and NCRT options. Universal heads offer 2.5, 1.0 and 0.001° indexing.
